Where to Brunch in LA

I get asked all the time by friends and visitors to LA where the "hot spots" are for brunch, going out, seeing the best views, etc. So here is the first of many guides to LA including where you must go, things you must eat and places you have to see if you live or are planning on visiting Los Angeles! Enjoy mimosas, amazing food, great vibes and outdoor seating at these picks below!

Because brunch is amazing all year long but better when you can enjoy it basking in the sun!

mama shelter | {hollywood} hip, trendy vibe with awesome art and character. play fuseball or write a note on their sticky post wall while you wait for your table. they also have really cool couch seating and a beautiful overlook of hollywood. brunch has not begun yet on the roof but is set to be served this summer. two words: wagyu burger!

post + beam | {baldwin hills} one of my absolute LA faves! a quaint spot serving up a menu of soulful-California fusion. Get patio seating on Sunday and enjoy live jazz as you lick the plate of your farm-to-table shrimp and grits. Perk: close by the beaches and airport AND they use herbs picked fresh from their backyard garden!

escala | {koreatown} think korea meets columbia... this gastropub is definitely a koreatown gem and my favorite part is the beautiful art work and design of the place including the wide open door ways. I've never gone when a DJ was not spinning old school tunes! enjoy the variety of mimosas (my fave is the mango chili!) and share the steak and eggs with a friend or date :)

larchmont bungalow | {larchmont/midwilshire} SO. MANY. OPTIONS. everytime I come to this place, I stare endlessly at the menu: should I have the quinoa blueberry pancakes, the smoked salmon benedict, the latkes and lox or the seafood lovers omelet?! no matter what I pick, it's all amazing! if you love coffee, the lattes are yummy AND the place is veggie and vegan friendly!

rooftop on wilshire | {mid-wishire} super cute place in the heart of LA with a view for days and a pool in the middle of the dining area. this is the type of place where you can't decide on any one thing so you order like 4 for the table and share them all!

the hudson | {WEHO} this is my go-to brunch spot to cure last night's hangover with more mimosas and their yummy hangover burger topped with a fried egg (I sub the potatoes for their hand cut fries). though there is not technically outside seating, you gotta love the beautiful open windows and the tree growing through the building! (yep, you gotta see for yourself!) a perfect neighborhood bar doesn't get more LA than this!

26 beach | {venice} famous for their burgers and french toast and rightfully so! I'm obsessed with the unique decor of each room at this place. it's always packed, make reservations or go early! their menu is EXTENSIVE! so when you can't decide what you want, get the california roll burger and the stuffed one french toast and split with a friend! perfect to brunch and stroll abbot kinney boulevard or hit the beach afterwards.

perch | {downtown la} this french inspired rooftop lets you have brunch on the 15th floor overlooking DTLA. it's breathtaking! this is one of my favorite places to come downtown and I love love love their french toast and crab benedict! come on the right day and they'll have a live band playing while you eat and drink. brunch doesn't get much better!
