Valentine's Sweets For Your Sweets
It's almost the day of love and I've been whipping up a ton of things that are full of love around my house! I am a lover of donuts. Jermaine is a lover of Krispy Kreme. There is a drastic difference! I like a heavier cake-like donut and he enjoys the dense light and airy version that KK produces. Sometimes, you have to make something the way your partner may like it to please them and in the name of "love", or so they say! So I came up with a compromise that will satisfy both of us and taste just as warm, yummy, soft and delicious with every bite! I put a little remix on these by making a Pink Lemonade Icing, perfect for Valentine's Day. Feel free to use this donut recipe with another icing or leave out the pink lemonade for a plain glaze!
Relationships take a lot of sacrifice and compromise and not just on Valentine's Day but year round and it's important to do things that he enjoys, just as much as he would do them for me! But also, I came up with something for myself, because well #selflove. As much as I love donuts, I also love (the idea of chocolate covered) strawberries -- or any fruit for that matter. But, I don't really enjoy chocolate. I know... I'm a strange one. Through some research, I found some recipes for yogurt covered strawberries and I was in awe! OMG. Heaven. And so, I amended the recipe by switching out the regular greek yogurt to my fave So Delicious Coconut Yogurt which worked just as well! If you are fine consuming dairy, stick with regular greek vanilla yogurt which is just as yummy!
Here are 2 recipes that could work whether you are a baker, into something lighter and healthy, a donut and carb lover, or fruit and berry lover. Enjoy your day of love and continue making everyday the best day full of love for self and others! If you try either of these, let me know if you have any questions or show me how they come out!
